KILMARNOCK are believed to be close to snapping up an Ayrshire-born goalkeeper ahead of the big Premiership kick-off.

The Rugby Park side are on the lookout for a first choice goalkeeper, with last season's keeper Will Dennis unlikely to return following the end of his loan spell from Bournmouth.

And according to the Scottish Sun, Dailly-born Robby McCrorie is thought to be close to signing a two-year deal with Derek McInnes's side.

The 26-year-old is in the final year of his contract at Ibrox and is said to be looking for regular first-team football.

The keeper, brother of Bristol City and Scotland player Ross, has featured seven times for the Glasgow side.

That includes two Old Firm wins against Celtic at Ibrox, where he kept a clean sheet in both games.

He has also enjoyed loan spells at Berwick Rangers, Morton, Queen of the South and Livingston.
