AN AYRSHIRE sex offender has been removed from his home by police after protesters gathered outside his home.
Locals demonstrated outside the home of Blair Mullen in Crosshouse after the 26-year-old pleaded guilty to two offences relating to indecent images of children at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on September 7.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a group gathered outside a property in the Crosshouse area around 8.20pm on Sunday, September 10.
“Officers engaged with the group who subsequently dispersed. There were no arrests.”
Their protest came three days after Mullen admitted possessing indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children at his home address and elsewhere between February 9 and March 10, 2022.
He also pleaded guilty to taking, permitting to be taken or making the same types of photograph on February 9 last year.
Mullen is still awaiting sentence for the offences and was bailed until his next court date.
