A teenager missing from Kilwinning for nearly three days has been found safe and well by police.

An appeal was launched for information about Alice Hill, 15, after she was last seen as Kilwinning railway station at around 4:30pm on Monday October 16.

It was believed that she had caught a train towards Ayr, and may have then got on a second training in the Glasgow direction.

Officers this morning (October 20) confirmed that Alice had been located.

A spokesperson said: "Please note that Alice Hill, who was reported missing and was last seen on Monday October 16 in the Kilwinning area has been found safe and well.

"The media and the public are thanked for their assistance in this matter."
