The Garnock Valley's annual chainsaw carving event was another roaring success at the weekend.

Garnock Valley Carves returned to Beith's Manse Field on Saturday, September 7 for its sixth year.

Organised by Beith Orr Park Neighbourhood Watch and friends, the 2024 event saw 14 carvers show their skills, with around 50 stalls and attractions for families to enjoy.

Each carver was given a large log and got just four hours in which to carve an item of their own choice.

And at the end of the day, all the carvings were auctioned.

The fun event also included various free and interactive stalls for children, including face painting, storytelling, axe throwing and educational opportunities, as well as the chance to make small carvings of their own.

There were plenty of food stalls and catering vans, plus coffee, ice cream and sweets available. And everyone seemed to enjoy a fantastic day out.
