Kilmarnock and Ayr United footballers are set to compete in a unique challenge to raise vital funds for Ayrshire Cancer Support.
The Ayrshire to Beatson Derby involves players from both clubs attempting to rack up the most miles during training in September.
Fans of both teams are encouraged to donate to the fundraiser, and help raise awareness of the charity and its services.
Ayrshire Cancer Support run their Ayrshire to Beatson Challenge every September, encouraging supporters to fundraise by walking, running, cycling or swimming a distance of their choice.
This is to represent the distance Ayrshire Cancer Supports volunteer drivers cover daily taking patients from Ayrshire to the Beatson Hospital.
With current fuel prices, each trip to the Beatson costs the charity's drivers roughly £55 and cancer patients often need this service multiple times a week for months or even years.
Without the volunteer drivers, many patients would be unable to access the life-saving treatment they need.
